Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) often referred to by her stage name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. In 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, performing the song Sweat it out 21st July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. On the 8th of December, it was reported that she had signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. Then, in October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer in support of J. Cole on his single Change in the year 2017 and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. On the 9th of November she released two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles: The No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby made an appearance alongside Cole for Creed II's sound track. Creed II sound track on November 16. The song was followed by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and reached 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018 she took part in her From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
